Whether performing at South by Southwest in Austin, Texas (twice), Woodford Folk Festival or a support act for Aussie icons Megan Washington and Troy Cassar-Daley, Yazmindi’s authentic sound and evocative stories are a far-reaching crowd-favourite. A cornerstone of her musical prowess is her ability to craft authentic stories and evocative soundscapes that build around her swelling harmonies. Yazmindi is one of the next generation of singer-songwriters that build upon the previous successes of iconic front runners, Missy Higgins, Julia Jacklin and Courtney Barnett. 

Heralding from Cooktown, Far-North Queensland, currently based on the road touring her brand new album, Yazmindi takes an honest, and sometimes tongue-in-cheek approach to authentically reflect on powerful moments of love, loss, societal pressures, youthful optimism, and determination. Traversing genres, a common theme of empowerment, especially towards young women runs strong and true to Yazmindi’s core values.

2022 is shaping up to be a monumental year for Yazmindi as she announces the release of her debut album, ‘Dream On’ out this August alongside a massive regional QLD, NSW and VIC tour. After an intensely formative couple of years spent honing her creativity, moving across the country and, most recently, experiencing the devastation of the NSW flooding, she is channeling all her passion and drive into this focussed project.

Yazmindi has recently successfully completed a crowdfunding campaign with the funds raised going directly towards the production costs of her debut album and producing her empowering ‘Dream On’ music video which was an all female-led production collaborating with young local Byron Bay creatives. As a completely independent artist, self-booked and managed, Yazmindis creativity and community involvement shines alongside live streams and concerts to support this. The campaign via Pozible, ended on 1st August and surpassed her goal of 13k. 

She is the breath of fresh air we didn’t know we needed. She keeps it real, she keeps it fun and most importantly she makes exceptional music. YAZMINDI is an eye catching show not to be missed. Whether it’s with her band or as a solo act with gorgeous vocals, acoustic guitar, her signature harmonica flair and stomp box - this body of work is undeniably and unforgettably Yazmindi.
